Screen Printing

Screen Printing is a very popular method of applying your design to a garment. Although screen printing has been around for hundreds of years the process hasn’t changed a great deal. What has changed is the technology within the inks, we can now screen print onto most surfaces to withstand many different conditions. We also have speciality screen printing inks such as reflective, glitter, metallic & glow in the dark to name a few.

Walk down any High street and you will see examples of SCREEN PRINTING everywhere: in shops you will see displays and posters advertising their products; on computers and hi-fi you will notice badges and control panels; all these have been screen printed. In the home you will find that many textiles and items of clothing, sports bags and T shirts have been screen printed, as well as the stickers that you have on the rear window of your car.

With our fully automated screen printing machine and our hand carousels, we can take on most screen printing jobs, from 1 off samples to runs of 10 000+.

Using the latest computer software we can convert your vision onto screen which you can view as a visual proof before we start screen printing. We can set your idea up for screen printing using photos & drawings through to jpegs .eps and .ai files.

Screen Printing Prices:

1. Screen Printing Setup:

There is a one-off setup charge of £30 per screen (ex VAT). You need a screen for each different colour and size. Once the set up fee is paid, you will not get charged a set up for future orders of the same design.

2. Screen Printing Cost:

The second charge is for the printing of the garments taking into account the amount of colours.

3. Screen Printing extras:

FAQ's

What is the maximum size I can screen print?
Front/Back area – 370 X 420mm
Arm – 95 X 450

What are the normal sizes and positioning of a screen printed design?
Front prints will normally fit on an A4 landscape piece of paper
A Chest print is normally on the left and is 85 – 90mm wide
Sleeve/Arm Print will also be 85 -90mm wide

Which are best, spot colours or a processed screen print (CMYK)?
It all depends on the design, and your budget. Once you show us we can advise on what route to take

How many colours can you screen print?
We recommend between 1 – 6, any more and the results are less predictable

Why is a one coloured screen print on coloured garments charged at a two coloured price?
This only applies to coloured garments. A base needs to be applied to get any opacity out of the desired colour, Adding a white backup will leave a great base to lay the next colour on.

What is dye migration?
Dye migration is when the printed ink takes on the colour of the garment due to heat. This occurs with garments containing polyester.
